August 19th ~ Show Cancelled/Postponed An update to our Norwegian friends: The promoter tells us that tomorrow's show in Tretten needs to be held on a later date. This is due to events totally outside the band's control. We are sorry for any inconvenience, and will be back with more information. August 18th ~ New Album, Facebook and Twitter News Greetings Earthlings, Aliens and whomever else! Believe it or not, despite the lack of activity here in our official site, we have been busy lately. A new spaceship is in the works, that will take you on a travel through what's musically been created in our heads over the last few years, but we are still in the process of finding a partner that will launch the ship (or album, if you want the clear picture...). However, we are nearing completion of recording the new album, and work with our Facebook page has been intensified, we have launched a Twitter page, and we will do our best to keep you up to date also here on the official site. Yes, there will be a newsletter about the new album coming soon, and maybe a little taste or two... Over at our Facebook page, we have set up a player where we have album tracks, but also songs that we consider a bit rare. So far, two rare songs have been added; the Japanese bonus track from God's Equation called "Forever Seeking", as well as the homage we did for the local soccer team in Skien, "Helter Fra Telemark". Ok, some of you might recognize the song as a cover by POD, but it's nevertheless recorded by us. We hope you enjoy it! We have five shows scheduled in Norway for the next 5 weeks or so, please see our "On Tour" section for details. We hope to see as many of you as possible out there. These will be the last shows in support of God's Equation and Live Equation, so who knows when some of these songs will be performed live again (yes, that's how confident we are with our new material).

[read more] Just before their show supporting BRAINSTORM at their gig on March 21st 2008 at Vienna's "Szene", I got the chance to talk to bass player Steinar Krokmo and drummer Stian Kristoffersen and get some inside information from the band on PAGAN'S MIND, their new album "God's Equation" and why Scandinavians chew something called "Gothenburg Rape"... SB: You've been on tour with Brainstorm for almost 3 weeks now, how was the tour for you? Steinar: Excellent! This is excellent promotion for our band, and this is only the second time we've been to Austria... We've been here once before with Fates Warning, where we did Austria and Holland; but now with Brainstorm we've been lucky to do quite a few countries more...[read more] Choosing this year's 'Album Of The Year' was a very easy job. After the first time I listened to the new Pagan's Mind album, I knew that 'God's Equation' was really special. The album is the perfect blueprint of how a great prog metal album should be: Innovative, creative, great skills, perfect songwriting and a killer production.
